The Holy Sacrifice

"Muharram" is the first month of the Islamic calendar and holds great religious significance for Muslims worldwide. It marks the Islamic New Year and is considered the most sacred month after Ramadan. The tenth day of Muharram, known as "Ashura," is significant for both Shia and Sunni Muslims. For Shia Muslims, it is a day of mourning and remembrance of the martyrdom of Hussain ibn Ali, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, at the Battle of Karbala. Sunni Muslims also observe "Ashura" but consider it a happy day and follow the tradition of fasting based on the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad.
