Mohammad Rakibul Hasan is a documentary and commercial photographer, filmmaker, journalist, visual artist, and art educator based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. His work explores various human rights, social development, political, environmental, and spiritual themes.
Hasan has been nominated for numerous international awards. He has won hundreds of photographic competitions worldwide, including the Lucie Award, One World Media Awards, Human Rights Press Award, Allard Photography Prize, and PX3 Prix de la Photographie. His photography projects have been exhibited in major galleries worldwide, including Photo Basel, Shanghai Photo Festival, NordArt Festival, Berlin Photo Festival, Belgrade Photo Month Festival, and Indian Photo Festival.
Hasan holds a One-Year Certificate in Creative Practices from the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York City, a Postgraduate Certificate in Photography from Falmouth University in the United Kingdom, and an Undergraduate Certificate in Art History and Philosophy from Oxford University. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Photojournalism from Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines, and also studied Film and Video Production from UBS Film School at the University of Sydney, and a BA (Honors) in Photography from Falmouth University.
Hasan is a visual journalist for ZUMA Press, Redux Pictures, Inter Press Service (IPS), and Thomson Reuters Foundation. He is also a consultant photographer and filmmaker for the World Health Organization (WHO), UN Women, Oxfam, Red Cross, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, ActionAid, WaterAid, and many other international non-profit organizations. The °CLAIR Galerie in Switzerland represents his artworks.
Hasan is a Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Fellow and a former TEDx speaker. He is a 2022 Oxford Climate Journalism Network (OCJN) fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford.
